How we can help you:

If you are resident in Lichfield, the Mary Slater Charity may be able to help with the extra costs of living with illness or disability – whatever your age.

For example we can support with:

• Equipment to make life easier around the home
• A motorised wheelchair
• Holiday breaks in the UK for those receiving care who would not otherwise afford a break

Things we have funded recently:

• Holidays for a number of people and their carers at UK mobile home holiday parks
• A walk in shower for someone with limited mobility
• A motorised scooter to help an immobile person become more independent (visit shops, friends, family)
• Specialised baby equipment for a premature baby
• Specialised swivelling child’s car seat – designed to make transfers from car to wheelchair smoother and more comfortable
• Sensory room equipment at local school

We can also support organisations who help those who are unwell and in need of financial assistance.

Who are we?

One of Lichfield’s oldest charities, ‘The Mary Slater Charity’ was founded from a legacy left by Mary Slater – a resident of Bore Street in 19th century Lichfield.
